This 1941 Chevrolet Pick Up has been completely rebuilt and modified into a unique one-off custom street truck. The truck was imported from San Jose in California by the current owner approximately eight years ago as an unfinished project. When the truck arrived into Australia, the truck was completely pulled apart and the rebuild commenced.

Instead of modifying the original chassis, a full Fatman chassis was used as the starting point. The front end is a Mustang II style independent front with tubular control arms and rack and pinion power steering. The rear end is a four-link setup with airbags on all four corners. The air tank and compressors are mounted under the tub at the rear. The entire chassis was given a coat of POR 15 black to protect it.

Powering the beast is a 400ci small block Chevy engine built by Rick Munoz in Gilroy, California. Sitting proud up on top of the engine is three, two-barrel ‘Demon’ carburettors. The heads are Edelbrock Kenny Duttweiler signature items. A Scat steel crank was used in the bottom end. There is a roller cam and rockers up top. The engine is setup with 10.5:1 compression ratio and is good for 480hp. Providing the ignition is an MSD distributer with 6AL box. The growl is provided by a set of extractors into a Flow Master exhaust.

The engine is paired to a turbo 350 automatic transmission with 3200 stall converter. Under the rear is a 10-bolt differential with Positrac centre and 4.11 ratio. Pulling everything up is a set of four-wheel power disc brakes.

The body of the truck is almost all steel except for the rear guards which are widened fiberglass items. The paint and bodywork were completed here in Australia using PPG paint products. The truck received all new chrome to the grille and bumpers. The entire bed was replaced with all new bedsides prior to paintwork and then decked out with oak wood in the base. There is a neat fuel filler in the bed for the relocated fuel tank. The look is completed with a custom set of 20” chrome wheels.

Open the door and you will find a custom interior by Barry Ashen at Aerospec. In the dash is a full set of Autometer gauges and there is an Ididit chrome tilt steering column holding a billet style wheel. The truck has been rewired with a new harness and an isolation switch in the cab. The truck has previously been on QLD registration and has a QLD blue mod plate fitted.
