This is a great example of a 1971 Ford XY GT replica restored in a great colour combo with a heap of awesome options. The car was sold new at Coachcraft Ford in Woolloongabba, QLD. The car has only two owners from new and the current owner informs us that the 79,000 miles on the clock is genuine milage for the car. The car was actually rebuilt around 25 years ago. For this reason, the car received a bunch of genuine parts as there was very limited availability of reproduction items back then.
The car was repainted in Track Red in the late 90s although you would think the paintwork was done within the last couple of years if you were looking at it. The paintwork has held up incredibly well and is a testament to how this car has been looked after over the years. The car wasn’t initially done as a GT replica, it was just a Track Red Falcon with shaker. The car was converted to a GT replica approximately 5 years ago with a high level of detail to make it as accurate as possible. The car has the correct type, dual mirrors, front and rear spoilers and 5 slot wheels with red striped tyres.
The interior in the car has been completely refinished and presents very well in black with bucket seats and centre console. The dash is all correct GT as is the steering wheel. There is a bunch of creature comforts which include, power steering, power disc brakes and air conditioning.
The engine in the car is a built 347ci Windsor stroker V8 that the owner tells us cost more than $20,000 alone when it was built approximately 9 years ago. Sitting proudly on top is a genuine shaker. There are ceramic coated extractors flowing into a custom exhaust. The engine is paired to a C4 automatic transmission with 2800 stall and 9” diff under the rear with 31 spline axles.
This is a well built and well optioned XY GT Replica in a great colour combination. These XY GT reps are always super popular and a head of fun to get out and enjoy. We think this car does a great job of combining sharp looks with enough horsepower to be a bunch of fun while having some options that make for a comfortable driving experience.
