This 2015 Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray is one bad ass modern sports car. The last generation of front engine Corvettes, the C7 is the sports car we wish was sold new here in Australia. Unfortunately, they had to be sourced from the US and imported and converted to right hand drive at great expense. The positive of this is that there are very few of these here and makes cars like this something unique among a sea of common cars.
The body lines of a C7 are epic, with the iconic wedge stingray shape. The centre section of the roof, which is optioned in carbon fibre on this car is removable for that wind in your hair feeling. There are LED lights all round and DRL’s and the rear end features four menacing exhaust outlets centrally mounted. This example is finished in Velocity Yellow paintwork with factory black 19/20” wheels.
Inside the car has been converted to right hand drive and is very well equipped. The dash is a mix or traditional and digital gauges and there is a heads up display that projects onto the windscreen. Creature comforts include power seats with memory, power windows, dual zone climate control, cruise control, proximity keyless entry and push button start. There are four different driving modes with active suspension and bimodal exhaust system.
Under the reverse opening bonnet is the standard 6.2L LT1 Chevy v8 engine. The engine is direct injected and produces 455hp and 460 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired to a seven-speed manual transmission with active rev matching technology.
The car is currently with its second Australian owner and has only travelled 7,721 kms from new. These C7 Stingrays rarely become available in the Aussie market so make sure you register and bid to avoid disappointment.
