This 2007 Ford FPV Super Pursuit Cobra ute is build number 70 of only 100 ever built. These Cobra utes and sedans were a throw back to the infamous XC Cobras that menaced Bathurst in 1978 with their iconic blue stripes over white paint scheme. Built in extremely limited numbers and as a top spec performance Ford of their day, they are certainly very collectible these days.
This ute was sold new by Pacific Ford in Maroochydore QLD to a gentleman on the Northern Gold Coast. He used the ute sparingly before selling it to a gent in the mines a few years later. Like many of these, people knew they would be good investments so they kept the kms low and used them sparingly. The current owner purchased the car in 2017 and put it away in their shed where it has lived ever since. The car is completely factory and unmodified.
The paintwork on the car is factory and in good condition with its iconic blue stripes over white. There are some minor touched up stone chips and minor wear here and there from its limited road use. The factory bespoke Cobra 19” wheels remain in place including matching spare wheel as does the hard lid tonneau cover with factory spoiler.
Inside the car presents as you would expect from an extremely low milage example. The bucket seats have the iconic Cobra embroidered into them and massive bolsters to hold you in place. Creature comforts inside include air conditioning, power windows, cruise control, central locking, 6 disc in dash CD player, auto head lights and push button start. The dash bears the signatures of both Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup who are V8 supercars racing royalty and were both campaigning Triple Eight Race engineering Falcons back in 2008. Inside the tub of the car is the factory tub liner which appears to have never seen a day of work in its life.
Under the bonnet lives the factory ‘Boss 302’ 5.4L quad cam V8 engine which produces 302 kw and 540 nm of torque. The engine is paired to a six speed manual transmission which in our opinion, is far more desirable than the automatic in a performance collector car. The brakes are the factory four wheel discs with Brembos up front and drilled rotors all round.
The odometer of the car is currently displaying 4,983 kms which the current owner believes to be genuine. Upon running a PPSR on the car prior to sale, a previous record did appear listed against the vin showing 20,108 kms in Jan of 2015. We reached out to previous owners we could contact but none of these could confirm a higher known reading than what the car currently shows. It is unclear if this was a clerical error at the time but we are unable to explain this record and feel it is worth noting. Either way, the car certainly presents as a genuine low milage example and does come complete with factory log books, owners manual and FPV owners compendium.
