This 2007 Ford FPV GT R Spec Cobra sedan is build number 112 of only 400 ever built. These Cobra utes and sedans were a throw back to the infamous XC Cobras that menaced Bathurst in 1978 with their iconic blue stripes over white paint scheme. Built in extremely limited numbers and as a top spec performance Ford of their day, they are certainly very collectible these days.
This Cobra was sold new by Hills Ford in Witara, NSW to a gent from Cherrybrook NSW. He used the car sparingly before selling it to the current owner a year later in 2008, who is a collector and Ford enthusiast. The current owners purchased the car in 2008 and put it away in their shed where it has lived ever since. The car did the occasional trip into town but has essentially been carefully stored since 2010 prior to coming into our showroom. The car is completely factory and unmodified.
The paintwork on the car is factory and in good condition with its iconic blue stripes over white. You can tell the car has been kept inside out of the elements for its whole life and the underside of it presents as well as the top of the car. The factory bespoke Cobra 19” wheels remain in place as do the factory GT, Cobra and R spec badging.
Inside the car presents as you would expect from an extremely low milage example. The leather seats have the iconic Cobra embroidered into them front and rear. Creature comforts inside include air conditioning, power windows, cruise control, central locking, 6 disc in dash CD player, auto head lights, Bluetooth phone connectivity and push button start.
Under the bonnet lives the factory ‘Boss 302’ 5.4L quad cam V8 engine which produces 302kw and 540nm of torque. The engine is paired to a six speed manual transmission which in our opinion, is far more desirable than the automatic in a performance collector car. The brakes are the factory four wheel discs with Brembos up front and drilled rotors all round.
The odometer of the car is currently displaying 7,664 kms which the current owner believes to be absolutely genuine. The service books and condition of the undercarriage certainly support the low milage indicated. Along with the sale comes factory log books, owners manual and FPV owners compendium.
