1973 Ford Fairmont XB GS Hardtop

HIGHLIGHTS: – Original GS Fairmont hardtop – Three owners from new – Tropic Gold with black interior – Rebuilt, matching numbers 302ci V8 engine – 4 speed manual transmission – Original log books and order sheet – 15” American racing wheels

This 1973 Ford Fairmont XB GS Coupe was sold new by Cannon Ford in Armidale, NSW on the 11th of March, 1973. The car was well spec’d in Tropic Gold with black interior running a 302ci V8 engine with 4 speed manual transmission. The car was optioned with driving lights, the GS pack and dual exhaust system.

The car is believed to have only had three owners from new living most of its life in the same area of NSW before being sold to a collector in Queensland. The car was repainted at some stage in its life in its original Tropic Gold colour. Externally the car is well presented in a factory look except for a period looking set of 15” American racing wheels. The interior is all as per factory and neatly presented in black vinyl.

The original, matching numbers 302ci V8 engine remains in the car today and was rebuilt in 2006 with a receipt provided in the paperwork. The engine is paired to the factory 4 speed manual transmission. Along with the car is the original owners manual stamped by the dealer inside the cover as well as the original retail order sheet.

Good quality Ford hardtops are getting harder to find these days and this is a good honest example with some great options, matching numbers engine and original documentation.
