NO RESERVE! 1972 Ford XA Falcon 500

HIGHLIGHTS: – Classic Aussie cruiser – Repainted original colour combo – Original 200ci 6 cyl engine – Three speed column automatic transmission – Seating for six adults – Original style tow bar – Factory style steel wheels and hubcaps – Offered at NO RESERVE

This 1972 Ford Falcon XA Sedan is a cool classic Aussie cruiser. The car rolled off the line at Ford’s Broadmeadows plant in February of 1972. According to the tags, the car was fitted with a 200ci High Compression 6 cyl engine paired to a three speed column shifter automatic transmission and finished in Copper Bronze with Saddle interior. The car remains in this same configuration 50 years later.

The body of the car was professionally repainted in its factor colour of Copper Bronze with a two tone roof painted in white. Theres is an original style protector strip that runs down each side of the car. The chrome on the front and rear bumpers presents well and appears to have been refinished at some stage. The body on the car is pretty good but not flawless with some bubbling evident in lowers of the front drivers guard and some of the lower doors we have tried to highlight in the pictures. The car retains its original look sitting on a set of colour coded steel wheels with factory hubcaps.

Inside the car retains its Saddle trim with bench seats front and rear to seat six adults in comfort. The carpets on the floor has been replaced as has the trim on the front bench seat with the rear appearing to retain the original trim. Factory style lap belts are in place for safety. Some wear is evident on the paint on the top of the drivers door where you would rest your arm which shows its originality. The boot is still fitted with its original rubber mat.

In the engine bay remains relatively untouched cosmetically. The bay retains its original Copper Bronze paintwork and sitting in the middle is the 200ci six cylinder engine. The original warning sticker remains on the strut tower and factory rocker cover and air cleaner remain in place. The engine is paired to a three speed column shifter automatic transmission. The brakes and suspension are all factory items that have just been maintained over the years.

This is a neat entry level classic Aussie cruiser for someone. Its got that old school charm but without the price tag you can get with some of the higher spec models. It’s a mix of maintained both cosmetically and mechanically with some great original items to maintain its authenticity. This car is being offered at NO RESERVE and will sell to the highest bidder at the end of the auction.
