1972 Ford Fairmont XA GT Replica Hard top

This 1972 Ford Fairmont Hardtop has been rebuild into a rad Black on Black XA GT replica. We have known this Hardtop for a while having fitted the wheels and a few upgrades to it and selling it to the current owner a while back. When ever we post a picture of this one we get lots of people asking if its for sale, well here is your chance.

The car started life as a 6cyl Fairmont in factory Gold but has been extensively upgraded and modified. First off, the car was fully repainted in Gloss black and turned into a GT replica with Satin GT black outs, flutes, grille and front spoiler. The colour coded bumper bars continue the sinister look. The car is lowered over a set of 17” Hotwire wheels that fill those big guards perfectly.

Inside the trim has all been refinished in Black GT style. The carpets were all replaced as was the trim on the seats and door trims. There are bucket seats up front with centre console and GT steering wheel. There is an aftermarket Sony stereo system for tunes while cruisng. The boot is neatly carpeted and the battery has been relocated from the engine bay.

There is no longer a six banger under the bonnet having been replaced with a 351 ci V8 engine. The engine bay is dressed with finned black Holley rocker covers and matching air cleaner. The engine is paired to a four speed top loader manual transmission and power is fed to the rear wheels via a Ford 9” diff. A nice addition to the drivability is the electric power steering setup with pump and reservoir mounted in the boot.  Pulling everything up is a set of power assisted four-wheel disc brakes.

Ford XA Hardtops are awesome Aussie muscle cars and this one in a sinister black on black colour combo, with the looks of a GT rep and the right drivetrain certainly ticks all the boxes.
