1971 FORD FALCON XY GT REPLICA

This is an awesome example of a 1971 Ford Falcon XY GTHO Replica. With the prices of real XY GT’s soaring at the moment, GT replicas like this one provide the look and feel of the real thing at a much more affordable price tag. Whenever we get high quality replicas in the shop, they are always popular, and certainly have a collector’s market and following in their own right. This particular example is finished in the extremely popular colour combination of Vermillion Fire with black trim. Externally the car has all the visual GTHO elements including front spoiler, driving lights, bonnet pins, shaker, rear spoiler, mirrors, badging and stripes along with the correct style black outs to the bonnet, sills, window surrounds and boot face. The car sits over a set of 18” Simmons Wheels with gold centres and a polished lip.

Inside, the car has also been completely redone in the correct GT style. The interior received a new roof lining, seat trim, carpets, seat belts and a venetian blind. The dash, steering wheel and console are GT items. The interior is in good condition and certainly feels like a nice place to be. The car has also had a reconditioned wiring loom installed to replace any dangerous, old brittle wiring.

Under the bonnet, the Falcon is running a strong 351 Cleveland, built to GT specs. The engine which has been balanced, features forged pistons, 2V closed chamber heads, 4MA crank, 4V inlet manifold filled and matched to 2V heads and 4V extractors. The engine is paired to a reconditioned C4 automatic transmission with 3500 rpm high stall converter. Feeding power to the rear wheels is a 9-inch diff with a reconditioned 3.5:1 LSD. A new 3 core close rib radiator helps keep it all cool. The brakes are discs up front and drums on the rear with new brake lines and a reconditioned brake booster and new master cylinder. In the boot there is an alloy baffled fuel tank with new rubber fuel lines from front to rear.
