This 1971 Ford Falcon XY GS K Code has been through an extensive, 6 year nut and bolt rotisserie restoration completed in 2018. Great care was taken during the restoration to ensure the car retained as many genuine (not reproduction) parts as possible. The lack of reproduction parts used on the car have made this a much more authentic but difficult restoration process.
Plated 6/71, the car includes the following factory features; matching numbers 351ci V8 (K Code), T-bar C4 Auto (Code B) Yellow Ochre (Code O) with Tu Tone Saddle interior (Code S) factory fitted with GS rally pack with optional power steering, bucket seats, sports console, dual exhausts, styled remote side mirror, limited slip differential and 8 track stereo system. A letter from Ford confirms that the car is one of one in this specification with options.
The car has been restored to a ‘Day 1” look with all of the delivery markings and paint dabs it would have had from the factory. The factory style body colour overspray under the car was carefully replicated. The owner tells us the alternator, wiper motor, carburettor, ignition coil, brake master cyl, brake booster, fuel tank etc. are all restored or NOS factory parts and not reproductions. The interior in the car is the original trim which has been removed and replaced on restored seat frames. The history of the car is known and includes a folder with receipts and original number plate the car had when sold new. The sale includes a set of original wheels with a full set of original tyres (not reproductions) including spare, obviously due to age these are for show purposes only.
