1969 Holden HT GTS Monaro
This 1969 Holden HT GTS Monaro is an iconic Aussie classic muscle car that has been nicely restored and upgraded. Beginning life, the car left the factory as a 80737 coded 186S car born in 11905 Verdoro Metallic green and 11X Antique gold trim.
The current owner purchased the car 2 years ago but the restoration and modifications to the car were performed by the previous owner who had the car for 20 years. The car was fully repainted in approximately 2012. The car was refinished in its original colour scheme however the Verdoro Green was given a little more gold metallic to make it pop more than the original colour ever did.
Open the door and you will see a completely refinished interior in cream leather. The front seats have some extra bolster to help hold you in place. The rest of the interior is reasonably factory in its presentation, the timber veneer on the console and dash present well as do the gauges. Between the front seats there is a B&M ratchet shifter that hints at something not so factory under the hood.
Lift the bonnet and there is no little six banger in sight. Instead, there is a much more exciting, built 350ci V8 with alloy heads and a cranky cam. The car barks to life when you turn the ignition key and you know straight away you are in something way more serious than anything that ever left the factory. The engine is paired to a turbo 400 automatic transmission which is controlled via a B&M ratchet shifter. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a beefy 9” diff. A set of headers and custom exhaust helps the gasses flow out unrestricted and certainly sounds great. Stopping that great big lump of metal is a set of four-wheel disk brakes. The car sits with a perfect lowered toughy stance over a set of polished Weld wheels.
These Monaro’s are always super popular and this HT is certainly a great example. Being a genuine GTS car you get all of the cool gear but also the fun driveline that you wouldn’t normally want to mess with in a factory V8 car.
