This 1968 Ford Falcon XT is a genuine JG33 GT that has been through a full restoration. The car was started life in the Melbourne plant before being sold new through Dominelli Ford on the 12 of August, 1968. The went through a full nut and bolt rotisserie restoration approximately 15 years ago to a high standard. The car has been very well kept by collectors since and was purchased by the current owner approximately 2 years ago.

The car has been independently verified as a genuine, matching numbers GT, however the car is a little unique in the fact that there was an error on the production line when the car was built meaning it wasn’t stamped with a shock tower VIN number at the factory. The tags and JG33 number were all stamped at the factory except for the chassis number which is the main identifier for registration purposes. The car was then sent back and stamped with a Victoria Police number in its place. There are documents relating to this process and Victorian historical registration records confirming this change as early as September, 1968. Having this documentation confirms the correctness of the car and also makes it a very unique and interesting GT.

The body of the car was stripped completely back to bare metal and restored back to factory, being recoated in its original colour of Zircon Green metallic. A new vinyl top was fitted to the car during the restoration with the iconic GT stripes reapplied. The external chrome and stainless was all either refinished or replaced. Finishing the look outside is a set of original wheels with chrome GT caps.

The interior of the car has been restored to the same high level of factory finish. For a period look there is a rear venetian blind added and the factory style radio remains in place in the dash. Inside the boot is well presented as you would expect with a factory style rubber mat on the floor.

Under the bonnet is the matching number 302ci V8 engine that was rebuilt during the restoration. The engine bay is very well detailed back to factory look with factory stickers and QC marking present. The engine is paired to the original automatic transmission with T-bar shifter. The power steering option improves the driving experience. The suspension and brakes have all been fully restored back to factory specifications. The undercarriage is neatly detailed and presents as well as you would expect from a well restored example.

The car has been inspected by ICAARS meaning you can bid with confidence that you are getting the genuine article. This is a rare opportunity to purchase a genuine, matching numbers XT GT Falcon that has been restored to a high standard and with a unique history.
