1969 FORD MUSTANG S CODE MACH 1

HIGHLIGHTS: – Genuine Mach 1 – Factory S Code 390ci Big Block V8 – C6 three-speed automatic transmission – Fully restored in 2015 – Factory Lime Gold Metallic – Optional power steering – Retrosounds Stereo with USB – 15” Magnum wheels with white lettered tyres

This 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 has been fully restored back to factory specifications with some minor upgrades. The car was built in the Metuchen Ford plant in New Jersey before being sold new at Beach Ford in Virginia Beach, Virginia in late September of 1968. The car left the factory as an S code 390ci 4V big block V8 with C6 automatic transmission with 3.25 ratio rear end. The car was finished in code I5, Lime Gold Metallic with code 2041-A black out hood and code 3A Black Clarion knit vinyl Mach 1 interior.

The car was fully restored in the USA in 2015 before being imported into Australia by a car collector. The current owner purchased the car off that gentleman approximately 2 years ago and has owned it since. The body of the car was refinished in its original colour during the restoration. The factory black outs were applied along with the original front and rear spoilers, hood scoop and rear louvers. The chrome bumpers were refinished and the exterior look was completed with a set of 15” Magnum style wheels with white lettered tyres.

The interior of the car is all neatly refinished back to factory in its original Black knit vinyl. The woodgrain trim highlights and bright red vinyl floor pads are signature Mach 1 items. The interior features a wood rim steering wheel, column mounted tacho and t-bar floor shifter. For some tunes while out cruising there is a classic look Retrosounds stereo system with USB connectivity through a cable in the glovebox.

Under the bonnet is the S code 390ci 4V V8 engine that has been rebuilt with some minor upgrades. The engine now uses an Edelbrock stage 1 kit, incl performance cam shaft, Edelbrock inlet manifold and Edelbrock performance water pump. Supplying the right air/fuel mixture is a new 650 cfm Holley carburettor. Exhaust is expelled by Dougs high flow headers and a new 2.5” dual exhaust system. The engine is paired to the original C6 Automatic which was overhauled by a Mustang specialist in 2020. The brakes and suspension have also been rebuilt and upgraded to include Bilstein shocks up front and Tokico shocks and 1” lowered springs in the rear.

This isn’t your average small block pony, with the S code big block v8 engine, and all of the Mach 1 gear, this is a proper muscle car. These Mustangs are always popular and good examples like this can be hard to find so make sure you register and bid if you want to put this one in your garage.
