Make no mistake, this Chevy may look like just a clean SS Chevelle as you walk up to it, but the car is fully restored and tastefully modified throughout. Just like the ghosted SS stripes that you may miss laying over the car, it’s full of clean and subtle features that you will keep finding as you work your way around the car. The paintwork has been completed to a very high standard in Metallic Grey with Gunmetal Grey ghosted stripes. The car has been subtly smoothed of its badges and even the front and rear bumpers have been shaved of their bumper bolts before being triple chrome plated. The external look is completed with a set of Boss 338 wheels measuring 18×8” up front and 18×9.5” in the rear.
Open the door and you will find a super neat interior. The kick panel and headliner feature LED lighting to show off the black SS trim. The front seats are TMI items with extra bolstering with both front and rear seats trimmed in leather and suede. Turn the key and the Dakota Digital gauges spring to live and ensure you have an accurate representation of what’s going on under the hood. Between the front seats there is a pistol grip shifter poking its head through the console along with a neat custom plate showing the manual shift pattern and reverse location.
Pop the bonnet and there’s no hiding the massive crate ZZ572 620hp big block Chevy V8 with a very expensive and beautiful custom billet fuel injection system on top that cost over $20,000 extra from fuel tank to custom CNC injection manifold. The engine breathes through a custom twin intake with K&N air filters into a 4” throttle body. Engine management is handled by a Holley HP ECU. An upgraded alloy radiator with twin thermo fans keep the monster cool.
The engine is paired to a Tremec 5 speed manual transmission with heavy duty twin plate hydraulic clutch. Power is transferred to the rear wheels through a 4” aluminium drive shaft with 1350 UNI joints to a rebuilt 12 bolt diff with 3.50 gears. A full stainless steel Magna Flow mufflers lets everyone within a block’s radius know you’re coming. To back up all the go, the Chevelle has a four-wheel CPP disc brake upgrade along with heavy duty stabiliser bars front and rear. Power steering keeps it tight and comfortable on the turns.
This is an extremely well built Chevelle with some awesome upgrades in almost every area. Certainly one to consider if you are looking for a tough American muscle car that’s a little bit different to the usual Mustangs and Camaros.
