This 1968 Pontiac Firebird 400 has been through a complete, professional restoration. These Firebirds are often overlooked in a sea of Camaros and Mustangs but make for a great muscle car that’s a little different to most. This car is even more desirable being an original 400ci V8 car which was the largest engine option available in 1968.
The car was a Californian car for most of its life and was fully restored there as a part of the Surf City Muscle Car Collection for over 10 years. The car was then imported to Australia by a private collector who has owned the car since.
During the restoration, the car was stripped back and professionally repainted in its original Aleutian Blue with black vinyl top and interior. The guys restoring the car had zero rust when it was stripped back to be repainted, attributed to the Californian climate it existed in. We are told that a complete rebuild was undertaken on the drive train along with all new suspension components. It is said that there is less than 1000 miles on the car since the restoration was completed.
The car maintains its original 400ci V8 engine paired with a Turbo 400 automatic transmission. Some great options include power steering, and power disc brakes. The car sits perfectly over a set of new American Racing Torq Thrust wheels for a period-accurate high-performance look.
