This 1968 Holden HK Delivery sedan is the result of a custom build taking a number of cars to create something that never existed from factory. The car has been extremely well put together, it certainly looks like something that would have come off the assembly line. The current owner built this one off custom using 4 cars, starting with a HK Holden ute, joining the roof sections off two station wagons and the tailgate and side panels modified from a panel van. The getting the proportions on something like this to look correct is extremely difficult but we think the builder nailed it here. Once the body was put together, the whole car was neatly painted in Picardi Red, A HK Monaro colour. The chrome has all been refinished or replaced. The air cleaner and carbs hanging up out of the bonnet hints that things aren’t exactly factory under there. The car sits lowered over a set of Intro Cruiser billet wheels measuring 18×7 up front and 18×8 in the rear. Recent external additions include the sun visor and roof racks complete with 60’s era 10 foot plank surfboard.

Inside the car is neatly finished with a camper bench seat up front that tilts forward to access the back. The trim is very tasteful in a red to match the exterior. There is a B&M quick shifter mounted to the floor and a trio if gauges in a custom mount that folds up under the dash. A steering wheel off a Chevy Corvair looks at home mounted to the chrome steering column. The rear of the deliver has factory panel style floor panels with a factory style speckle durable lining applied to the sides and a full length head liner up top.

The car was originally finished with the original 307ci V8 and powerglide trans but that combo has now been exchanged for something much tougher. Now in the hole is a built 355ci V8 stoker with twin 650cfm Quick fuel carbs and a custom high rise intake manifold. In a Ht ute with only a single carb setup the engine had previously run an 11.2 quarter before being upgrade and put into the delivery. The engine is paired to a built Trimatic which has been shift kitted with 5000 rpm stall and cryogenic hardened shaft. Feeding power to the rear wheels is a Borg Warner diff from an Au falcon which has been narrowed to suit. The brakes have been upgraded to four wheel power discs with an extra vacuum tank to account for the high lift cam. The engine bay is also fitted with a Moroso oil accumulator. Keeping everything cool is an upgraded radiator with twin thermo fan setup. The car sounds amazing, mostly due to the Gonzo V8 race 3” twin exhaust. Tramp rods help the car hook up in the rear. The car has been running this engine combination for almost 5 years now. When the car was first completed it was featured in street machine magazine and has wowed many crowds at Summernats as well as a range of other local car shows.
