1967 Pontiac GTO

HIGHLIGHTS: – Highly desirable last year, first gen, Pontiac GTO – Fully restored in 2019 – Matching number 400ci V8 Engine – Turbo 400 automatic transmission – Detailed factory engine bay – Completely refurbished interior – Power steering – 17” American Racing Torq thrust wheels

This 1967 Pontiac GTO comes to us from a private collection of high end US Muscle cars. The car was purchased by the current owner at the Hot Reno Nights Car show in Reno, California in 2019. The car has recently been through a full restoration and was nicely presented in its original colour scheme of G code Signet Gold with 221 code Gold interior. The car did originally leave the factory with a black vinyl top but this was deleted during the restoration. When the car arrived in Australia, the owner wasn’t quite happy with the paintwork finish from the restoration, so he stripped the car and had it repainted here in Australia in 2021.  He also took that opportunity to replace a few of the chrome strips and pieces that weren’t quite spot on. The car sits on a set of 17” American Racing torq thrust wheels. The car was finished in September 2021 and has only driven approx. 200 kms since to a few local car shows and meets.

Under the bonnet is the original, matching numbers, 400ci Pontiac V8 engine with 4-barrel carb. The engine was rebuilt during the restoration and the engine bay is finished to a factory presentation.  The engine is paired to the factory turbo 400, 3 speed automatic transmission. The car has power steering and a disc brake front end. The factory differential has 2.93 gears under the rear.

Inside the interior has been completely refinished back to factory in its code 221 Gold interior. There are bucket seats with centre console housing a Hurst automatic floor shifter. Everything has been refinished from carpets to headliner. The woodgrain trim on the dash and console present well and there is a pair of aftermarket gauges mounted under the dash. These 1967 GTO’s are hugely desirable cars among collectors and rarely become available for sale, especially in this condition.
