1967 Holden HR Panel van

This little HR Holden panel van has been through an extensive rebuild and tasteful modifications. Purchased by the current owner locally on the Gold Coast, the car was running and driving but had been sitting for a long time. The decision was made to completely strip the body, have it sand blaster and restore it with all new parts. With the body on a rotisserie, all of the necessary rust repairs were undertaken before coating the entire van in Orange. The look of the van is completed externally with a set of chrome wheels with factory hubcaps measuring 15x 7” up front and 15x 8” on back, running 225’s and 285’s respectively.
The interior has also received some custom treatment with a full retrim by John’s Trim Shop at Ashmore. The front seats are HR premier buckets while the rear has been fitted with seats out of a HR station wagon. There is a custom centre console and some aftermarket gauges including a console mounted tacho and 3 pack under the dash. A Cd player and stereo speakers provide tunes while out cruising. In the back there is some custom timber panels the owner neatly created using marine ply that was 2 pac painted.
Under the bonnet of the van there is a 186ci 6 cylinder engine that has been fully rebuilt. The engine has been taken out 40 thou and has a mild cam. The head was recently redone on the car with all new valves. The engine is paired to 5 speed Celica manual gearbox for better driveability. The front end has been upgraded to disc brakes with power booster. The van also receive all new ball joints as well as new springs front and rear. There are photos to document the restoration which took place over a period of 4 years, completed in June 2019.
