1967 Ford S Code GT Mustang Fastback

This is an awesome example of a nicely restored and upgraded 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback ‘S Code’. The car began life out of the San Jose Plant in California where it was manufactured as a 390 ci ‘S Code’ V8, 4-speed manual Fastback in Nightmist Blue with blue trim. The car was optioned with a limited slip differential, AM radio, deluxe seat belts and heavy-duty suspension.

The car was stripped back to a bare shell in 2012 and went through a two-year nut and bolt rebuild into the car you see here today. The driveline combination of the 390 ci V8 and four-speed manual were retained but the colour scheme was changed to Raven Black with red interior. This was a very rare and desirable colour combination and one that we think suits the car perfectly. The car was also upgraded to receive all the GT equipment including driving lights in grille, badges, stripes and gas cap. The work has been completed to a high standard and the car presents extremely well.

Inside, the car has been fully recovered back to factory specifications in red vinyl. The interior includes bucket seats, centre console and overhead console. The factory style four-speed shifter sits up proud between the front seats. There is a wood rimmed GT style steering wheel and there have been red lap sash retractable seat belts fitted for safety.

Under the bonnet is the original style 390 ci big block V8 engine. The engine bay has been completed back to factory specifications and is nicely detailed. An MSD distributer and 6AL ignition box help brighten the spark. There is a set of extractors that flow into a full stainless steel exhaust system. The underside of the car is as neat as the engine bay with red oxide style paint applied to the underside of the floors. The car was ordered with some great performance options of heavy-duty suspension and a Equa-Lock 3.25 ratio differential which tells us the original owner was certainly into their cars. The suspension arms, springs and diff are all neatly presented and show the car has been fully restored.

These ’67 Fastbacks are always extremely popular cars and certainly the model to have amongst the Mustangs. We think this example, being a genuine S Code car, in a desirable colour combination and with lots of GT options is a fantastic example.
