1967 Chevrolet El Camino

This 1967 El Camino comes to us from a private collection. The current owner purchased the car from California in early 2019 and imported it to Australia. The body of the car has been completely refinished in House of Kolor, Kandy Magenta paintwork which flips spectacularly in the sun. The paintwork included all of the door jambs, under bonnet and inside the tub. Externally the chrome has been refinished or replaced and the Elco sits on a set of 17” American Racing Torq thrust polished wheels. Inside, the interior trim of the car has been replaced and is neatly presented in black. There is a bench seat for three passengers and a Hurst automatic shifter on the floor. Mounted to the steering column is a ‘Moon’ tacho and there is a trio of gauges under the dash to monitor oil pressure, volts and water temp. There is a Kenwood CD Player mounted in the glovebox and speakers in boxes behind the front seat.
Under the bonnet is a 396ci big block Chevy V8 engine. The motor was pulled apart in August 2019 and given a freshen up with new rings and bearings then reassembled with all new gaskets and fluids by JOH Engineering in Ipswich. There is an Edelbrock Carburettor and RPM Performer intake manifold. The engine is paired to a Turbo 700R 4 speed automatic transmission which the owner tells us was rebuilt approximately 2 years ago. There is power steering and power assisted brakes with discs up front and drums in the rear. The car has previously been registered in QLD and comes with vehicle import approval and old Californian title.
