1963 CUSTOM CHEVY C10 LSA PICK UP

This 1963 Chevy C10 pick up has been extensively modified into a cool custom restomod. The truck has been in Australia for a good few years now and has certainly evolved and been improved during its time here. It was initially painted in Satin turquoise and was bagged with a small block Chevy V8 under the hood. Ex- V8 supercar driver and Bathurst 1000 winner, Johnathan (Jonno) Webb of Tekno Autosports owned the truck during this time and it was seen around South East Queensland at events with a Tekno banner across the windscreen. Jonno owned the car for a few years before selling it on. The truck changed hands a couple of times, with a ‘Kingpin Customs’ Logo being painted on the door, before Jonno bought it back. While in his hands for the second time, the truck was converted from the small block to the Supercharged 6.2L LSA engine. Jonno eventually sold the truck to the current owner who has fully repainted it with custom patterns to complete the look.
The truck is a factory short bed which is super desirable in these early C10s. The current owner is a good friend of Trevor Davis who is a reputable custom painter known for painting award winning show cars. The current owner liked the truck but wasn’t a fan of the satin paintwork so he gave Trevor creative licence to make it cool and this is what he came up with. The base turquoise now has a cool green pearl over it with patterned teal fade sections throughout the body. The roof received a custom teal with heavy metallic fleck through it and the bumpers and grille were repainted in crisp white. The truck is slammed down on airbag suspension over a set of 15” chrome smoothie wheels with bullet caps and wide white wall tyres.
Inside the truck retains the original satin turquoise finish on the dash, doors and window surrounds. There is an aftermarket steering wheel and four gauges mounted under the dash. The windows have been converted to operate electrically. The bench seat has been retrimmed in a white to match the external highlights. The automatic transmission is column shifted and there is a an Accuair Switch Speed controller for the airbag suspension. The gauges remain original items which don’t really talk to the modern LSA under the bonnet but there is a GPS heads up display speed that projects onto the windscreen. The bed floor in the back has been raised to accommodate the suspension underneath and now has a tie down rail the whole way around with rubber floor mat so it can actually be used as a utility vehicle if required.
Pop the bonnet of this beast and this is where the party gets started! The old small block Chevy heart is gone and has been replaced with a 6.2L Supercharged LSA V8 engine. The engine bay is well presented with a Carbon fibre intake and Chevrolet Script coil/valve covers. The engine is paired to a 6L80E six speed automatic transmission. Power is fed to the rear wheels through wheels via a 12 bolt rear diff. The chassis of the truck has been extensively upgraded using parts from Porter Built in the US. The front end uses a full PB drop member with tubular arms, relocated shocks, sway bars and rack and pinion steering. The centre of the chassis features tubular bracing and cross members and the rear is also a PB rear drop member with air bags, bolt in notch and relocated shocks. There is an air tank under the tub and the system is controlled with Accuair Switch Speed. The brakes have also been upgraded to handle the horsepower and feature discs up front with power booster and external vacuum pump.
This is one super cool custom short bed C10 pick up. Almost every area of this truck has been upgraded and with the LSA under the bonnet, is an absolute weapon to drive.
