This 1958 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 Holiday Coupe is a very rare car here in Australia. The car comes to us from a private collection where it was purchased from the original owner. GM records show that only 1,481 of these Dynamic 88 Holiday Coupes were produced in 1958, with a small portion of these surviving today this would certainly be a rare car.
The body of the car has been repainted at some stage of its life in its original colour of Champagne Mist. The sheer amount of chrome on these cars is mind boggling and certainly makes a statement on the road. The chrome and stainless trim on the car is complete which is important because they can be very hard to find. It presents well all round with the rear appearing to be recently refinished. One of the cool features externally if the hidden fuel filler behind the trim on top of the tail light. The car comes with a set of original wheel spats and the look is completed with a set of steel wheels with factory hubcaps and wide white wall tyres.
The inside of the car has been restored with a cool period cloth insert trim in both the bench seats and doors. There is enough seating for 6 adults comfortably. The dash board is a work of art with nice clean gauges and intricate chrome and switches. Comforts include automatic transmission, power brakes and power steering.
Under the bonnet lives the factory 371ci Oldsmobile Rocket V8 engine. The engine is paired to a four speed Hydra-matic automatic transmission. The engine bay and driveline are factory still running the period Delco Remy Generator and Treadle Vac power brake system.
