This 1958 Chevy Impala coupe it a cool 50’s American cruiser that has been restored back to factory. The 1958 Impala was a one year only body style and is among the most valuable and collectible of the early Chevrolets. The Impala Sports coupe was the highest trim level and most expensive hard top body style sitting just under the convertible. The car has some fantastic 50s styling with rocket inspired tail lights, imitation roof vents, wrap around windows and an incredible amount of chrome!
This particular Impala comes to us from a private collection. The car has been repainted in its original colour of Sierra Gold. The chrome on the car, of which there is plenty, has all been refurbished or replaced. Likwise, the stainless side trims are complete, nicely restored and polished. The car sits over a set of steel wheels with factory Impala hubcaps and wide white wall tyres.
The interior has been nicely restored back to factory with the original look tri-tone cloth insert. The dash is neatly painted in body colour with clear factory gauges. There is a GM Accessory tissue holder mounted under the dash along with an aftermarket Kenwood head unit with USB input for tunes while driving. The steering on the car is nice and light thanks to power assistance.
Under the bonnet is a factory 283ci V8 engine with the engine bay well presented. The engine is Chevy orange as it should be with factory style air cleaner and Delco Remy generator still in place. The engine is paired to a column shifted, two-speed Power glide automatic transmission.
These 1958 Chevy Impala coupes are rare cars here in Australia and extremely desirable with collectors and enthusiasts. This one is nicely restored in a classy factory colour combo. Be sure to register and bid if you want to see it parked in your garage.
