This 1932 Ford Roadster has been through a ground up build into a cool custom hot rod. The car was initially built in 2005 by C & W components who are one of the country’s leading fiberglass hot rod body manufacturers and parts suppliers. The car was complied under LH9 for QLD hotrod registration and first registered in October of 2005.

Starting with a reproduction 1932 Ford frame the front end uses a four-bar setup with Superbell traditional style I-beam axle and transverse leaf spring. The rear suspension is a four-link item with adjustable coil overs. Powering the beast is a tough built 400ci V8 engine topped with a Weiand 6/71 supercharger and dual 850 cfm four-barrel Demon carburettors. When the car was original put together the blower was set up as 20% overdriven but was too wild and has since been reduced to 20% underdriven. The engine is paired to a column shifted, Turbo 400 automatic transmission and power if fed to the rear wheels through a Ford 9” diff.

The body of the car is naturally a C & W components 32 Ford Roadster item with exposed hinges but shaved exterior door handles and boot handle. The normal fenders have been ditched in favour of colour coded cycle guards and the tail lights are ‘39 Ford tear drops. The bonnet sides were left off to show off the engine bay and the top section of the bonnet is removable for different looks. Likewise, the car is equipped with a colour matched fiberglass hard top that is removable. The whole body is coated in metallic silver with feature pin striping throughout. The look is completed with a set of staggered Billet Specialties wheels measuring 15” up front and 17” in the rear.

The interior of the car has been completely custom trimmed in red and silver. The bench seat is a custom item, trimmed in leather with individual bolsters. The floors and door trims are both custom inlaid with patterns. The steering column is tilt adjustable with column mounted shifter. The steering wheel is a forever sharp and the pedals are from a Billet catalogue. The ’32 Ford dash features aftermarket Dolphin gauges. The entire boot has been panelled out and trimmed to match the interior.

A tough little street rod that has been completely custom built from the ground up and is an absolute blast to drive.
