This is a fantastic example of an low mileage 2007 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 that was professionally converted to Right Hand Drive by Performax in Gympie, QLD. The Z06 is the bad boy of the corvette world with a large number of improvements over the base model Stingray. The C6 Z06 is the lightest of all Corvette models and was equipped with the largest-displacement small block engine ever produced, a new 7.0 L (427.8 cu in) V8 engine codenamed by GM as the LS7. These hand built engines produce 505 hp with 470 lb·ft of torque and is the most powerful production naturally aspirated engine made by General Motors. The engine also featured a dry sump oiling system, and connecting rods made from titanium alloy. The engine is paired to a 6 speed manual transmission for that real drivers experience. The frame of the Z06 is constructed from aluminium, which posed a 62 kg weight saving over the standard steel. Other weight saving measures such as balsa wood/ carbon fibre composite floors and a magnesium alloy engine cradle were used. Body wise, you can pick a Z06 from a base Stingray thanks to its larger front and rear fenders and an intake scoop in the center of the front bumper. The front fenders are carbon fiber and there are functional ducts in the rear quarters to cool the rear brakes. Car and Driver magazine recorded a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 3.6 seconds and 1/4 mile in 11.7 seconds at 125 mph (201 km/h) in October 2005. The upgrades didn’t stop with the power and weight savings, the Z06 also has larger anti-sway bars, stiffer spring and shocks, a transmission cooler. Pulling the Z06 up are 6-piston front and 4-piston rear brake calipers, with cross-drilled 355 mm front rotors and 340 mm in the rear. Unique light weight forged aluminum 18-inch front and 19-inch rear wheels are standard to the car but in the optional chromed finish. This would have to be one of the better examples currently available having only traveled 20,544 kms from new. The car comes with a folder of paperwork and receipts including the original window sticker and documentation from the US when it was purchased and imported into Australia.
