This 1973 Ford Landau Hardtop has been neatly restored with some tasteful upgrades. The Landau was Ford’s top of the line luxury coupe offering back in its day with all the luxuries of an LTD backed into a high performance coupe body shape. This car was built in November of 1973 and finished in H code Tropic Gold with B4 code black leather interior. The car was equipped with a T code 351ci Cleveland 4V V8 engine paired to a B code, T-bar cruisomatic transmission. The car comes to us from a collector who has owned it for approximately four years having purchased it already restored off a local gent through word of mouth.

The body of the car has been professionally repainted in its original colour. The colour matched vinyl roof remains in place while the front and rear bumpers have been rechromed. The Landau received unique tail lights with a hide away headlight front end. The external look of the car is given a little most muscle thanks to a set of 15” American Racing Torque thrust style wheels.

The inside of the car has all of the creature comforts and luxuries you would expect of a top of the line offering. The black leather trim is well presented and there are wood grain appointments on the dash.  The front bucket seats are split by the factory centre console which houses the T-bar shifter and air conditioning controls. Power windows are a standard Landau item but add a nice luxury touch.

Under the bonnet is a 351 ci Cleveland V8 engine that has been built into a 393ci stoker with some performance upgrades. The engine received a Scat crank, Scat rods, SRP forged pistons, Meling high volume oil pump, Rollmaster timing chain set, Camtech Cam shaft, Trend heavy duty push rods, Edelbrock Performer alloy heads, screw in studs, heady duty valve springs, Precision roller rockers and a Holley 750 cfmcarburettor. A set of extractors and a dual exhaust give the coupe a mean sounding tone. The engine bay is well presented and tidy all round. The engine is paired to the factory FMX automatic transmission which was rebuilt at QLD Performance to factory specs along with a new custom converter. Power is fed to the rear wheels through the factory nine inch diff.

These Landau’s have their own unique following and don’t come up for sale very often. This is a neatly restored example with some subtle upgrades. The sale of the car includes the original log books and folder with paperwork including engine build specs. The car is being offered at NO RESERVE and will sell to the highest bidder come the end of the auction.
