This 1972 Valiant VH Charger R/T E49 tribute has come to us as part of a large private collection. The car left the factory in May of 1972 as a 6 cyl, manual transmission car finished in Alpine white with Tan interior. The car was sold new on the 28th of February 1973 through Foremost Motors, in Wynnum, QLD. The car is believed to have lived in QLD its whole life until the current owner purchased the car a few years back. It already had the E49 spec running gear at the time and he then added the R/T style graphics and decals.

The body of the car is very well presented and appears to have been professionally repainted in its original colour. The chrome bumpers have been refinished or replaced during the resto however the rear is suffering from some staining just above the exhaust. The glass is all nice and clear and the rubbers have been replaced. The R/T decals look the absolute business and transform the car. The car sits on a set of factory Jelly Bean style wheels with red striped tyres.

Inside the interior has been refurbished in its original Tan colour. The carpets on the floors have been replaced as has the front and rear seat covers. There is a floor shifter for the manual transmission between the front bucket seats and three pedals on the floor. The dash and gauges are all nicely restored and present like new. For safety there is modern lap sash seatbelts all round and a fire extinguisher mounted under the dash.

Under the bonnet now lives a 265ci Hemi 6cyl engine that have been fully rebuilt to E49 specs. The engine features an E49 spec triple Weber carb setup. The engine is paired to a four-speed manual transmission for a true old school muscle car driving experience. The brakes and suspension are rebuilt original items.

The sale of the Charger includes the original log book and owner manual. Charger’s like this don’t come along very often and this is a very nice example with all of the fruit under the bonnet to make it a bunch of fun.
