SOLD! LOT 57 – 1971 FORD XY GT REPLICA

NO RESERVE! 1971 Ford Falcon XY GT Replica

HIGHLIGHTS: – Built into GT Replica – Repainted in Vermillion Fire – 351ci Cleveland V8 engine – Four speed manual transmission – Nine inch diff with 2.7 gears – 14” Five slot wheels with red striped tyres – Offered at NO RESERVE

This 1971 Ford XY GT replica is an older restoration. The build of the car started back in the 90s where it was pulled apart and painted in Vermillion Fire before the project came to a holt. The car was stored for a long time disassembled back from paint work and wasn’t restarted until 2019. Outside the car has all the GT features including stripes, badging, spot lights, mirrors, front and rear spoilers, bonnet pins and dual exhaust. The look is completed with a set of factory style 14” five slot wheels with red striped tyres.

The interior has been completely redone back to a factory style in black. The dash, console and steering wheel have all been swapped out for GT gear. The seat covers from and rear have been replaced with black in the factory basket weave pattern. The inside of the boot is neatly painted with carpet mat on the floor.

The Falcon runs a mild 351ci Cleveland V8 engine. The iconic shaker sits proud on top and pokes its head up through the hole in the hood. The engine is paired to a four speed manual transmission and the power is fed to the rear wheels via an ever dependable 9” diff. The rear end runs 2.7 gears so its set up to be more of a highway cruiser than a traffic light racer.

These XY GT Replicas are always super popular. With prices of original examples pushing out of reach of most people, reps like these can provide the same charm, looks and fun, for a fraction of the price. This vehicle is offered at NO RESERVE and will sell to the highest bidder at the close of the auction.
