This 1970 Dodge Challenger has been fully restored and transformed into a Hemi R/T Tribute with some tasteful upgrades. If you know Dodge Challengers, 1970 was the first year for the nameplate and is the year to have, it’s a one year only style and the most desirable among collectors. The car started life as a 318ci V8 car and is believed to have been in Australia for many years and has been through a full ground up restoration and transformation into a R/T Hemi clone.

The body of the car was stripped back to a bare shell before receiving any necessary repairs. Once these were completed the car was completely repainted in one of the best factory 1970 Challenger colours, Go Mango Orange. The paintwork although done many years ago, is a high quality, professional job. The chrome and stainless trim on the car was either refinished or replaced at the same time. The car now features R/T and 426 Hemi badging and stripes. To give it a tough new look on the outside, the car sits down nice and low over a set of 15” Satin Centreline Auto Drag wheels.

Inside the interior has been completely refinished in black to a factory look. There are bucket seats up front with a full length console which houses the pistol grip automatic shifter for the 727 Auto. In the dash is a full set of Dakota Digital gauges mounted into the factory cluster. Everything from the carpets on the floors to the headlining up above has been refinished inside.

Under the bonnet now lives the legendary, 426ci Hemi V8 engine. The engine is build using an original 1969 date coded block and upgraded with a mild cam and performance inlet manifold. The engine bay is very well detailed and in a factory style presentation. The engine is paired to a three-speed, 727 automatic transmission. Power is fed to the rear wheels through a shortened nine inch diff with Truetrac centre and 3.45 ratio gears. The suspension has been lowered to give the car a mean stance.

These 70 Dodge Challengers are among the most iconic of the American muscle cars and this one having been fully restored and transformed into a R/T Hemi tribute, in one of the best factory colours is certainly an attractive proposition. Be sure to register and bid if you want to see this bad boy parked in your garage.
