1969 Ford Mustang Fastback

This 1969 Ford Mustang Fastback has been through a rotisserie restoration over 6 years being completed in July 2013. The car has a long list of tasteful modification to improve the car and ensure it stands out from the crowd. The car was imported into Australia by the current owner in 2006 with the restoration beginning shortly after in 2007.
The paint and body on the car were completed to a high standard during the restoration. The colour of the car is cool custom purple that has a great metallic flip to it and really shows off the car’s sleek lines. The car then received three coats of ceramic coating along with a self-healing paint protection film being fitted to the hood and bottom of quarter panels.

Custom brackets fitted to front seats so that the seats slide back further to accommodate tall people. Custom Centre A/C dash vents. Front (Procar Rally seats) and rear seats recovered to match in the same material and same pattern Early 2019. Fully dynamatted in the passenger compartment including inner and outer doors and quarter panels.
The car runs a 408ci Windsor V8 engine which was built and fitted to the car in 2014. The engine consists of a 351 Windsor F4TE roller block, stroked to 408ci and filled with Eagle 4340 forged crank, Eagle H beam rods, D.S.S. SX-Series Forged Pistons, Lunati Voodoo roller cam, a Trick Flow Billet Steel Timing Set, Canton block girdle and racing sump. The heads are Dart Pro 1 items with Scorpion endurance roller rockers, ARP fasteners. An Edelbrock RPM intake holds the Quickfuel Black Diamond 830 carburettor with a shaker poking its head up through the Mustang’s bonnet. Spark is provided courtesy of a MSD Pro Billet Distributor and MSD programmable ignition box hidden under the dash. Keeping things cool is trusted to a 24″ big block radiator with twin 12″ Davies Craig thermo fans. Hedman ceramic coated headers

The engine is paired to a C4 automatic transmission which was rebuilt in 2019 and includes billet input shaft, reinforced forward drum, Kevlar bands, 4 pinion planetary gears, extra clutches, deep cast alloy pan, extra transmission cooler and a TCI 4000 Rpm stall converter. In the handling department, the car received Caltracs and Calvert adjustable shocks which were fitted in 2018. Earlier this year, the car was treated to new front springs and upgraded to split mono leafs in the rear. Steering is handled by an XF Power steering pump fitted using the factory bracket. Braking is assisted by a CVR brake vacuum pump hidden under the front guard and utilises four wheel disc brakes. The rear end is a 9” with 31 spline axles and Truetrac center with 3.66 gears.

Performance wise the car made 400 rw hp back in 2016 prior to upgrades to the carb, inlet manifold and ignition system. The car has run an 11.7 sec ¼ mile at 117mph. This was prior to suspension upgrades and current tune. As quick as the car is, it is certainly very streetable with the current owner having made trips in the car from the Gold Coast to Rockhampton twice and Sydney once.
