This 1969 Ford Mustang Fastback has been rebuilt and upgraded as a Boss 302 clone. The Boss 302 was a high-performance Mustang model released in 1969 as part of Fords homologation program to race in the SCAA championship. It ran an upgraded high performance 302 ci V8 engine along with a bunch of other handling upgrades and unique styling cues. This particular car has been neatly restored as a tribute to the Boss cars.

We actually sold this vehicle a while back to SEVEN82MOTORS sponsored athlete and Australia’s current number one pro boxer, Mr Tim Tszyu. Tim has had a huge couple of years in his career, remaining undefeated and now with an upcoming shot at a making history to become an undisputed world champion and claim all of the belts. What a lot of people don’t know is that Tim is a big car guy and he has been enjoying this Mustang as his personal cruiser between his busy schedule. Tim recently decided to buy himself a new toy in one of our recent auctions and upgraded so has trusted us to sell this one for him.

The car started life as a factory 302ci V8, automatic with power steering and power brakes and was originally Silver Jade in colour with black trim. During the resto, the colour was changed to Calypso Coral which is a bright vibrant Orange hue and one of the four colours the Boss cars were available in that year. Naturally, the car received the Boss blacked out bonnet, tail panel, headlight surrounds and C stripe down the sides. These is a factory style bonnet scoop, rear window louvers as well as both front and rear spoilers. The look is completed externally with a set of Cragar Magnum style 15” wheels wrapped in red striped tyres.

Inside the trim is factory style in black with integrated air conditioning dash and bucket seats with centre console. Unlike the genuine Boss cars which were all 4 speed’s this one is an automatic with T bar shifter hanging up through the centre console. The steering wheel is a period looking deep dish woodgrain item. Keeping things comfortable in the cabin is air conditioning to make for some great summer cruising.

Under the bonnet is a 302ci V8 engine and while its not a Boss engine, it is at least the same capacity. The engine is fairly factory with new MSD distributer supplying spark. The engine is paired to a C4, three speed automatic transmission. Driving experience is enhanced by power steering and power assisted brakes with discs up front. These Fastback 69’s are popular American muscle cars and this one is a neat cruiser being automatic with air conditioning and power steering. With all the looks of a Boss 302 and some pretty cool celebrity ownership, this is one not to miss out on.
