HIGHLIGHTS: – Rare and desirable XP Futura Coupe – Full ground up, nut and bolt restoration – 200ci Super Pursuit 6cyl engine – Automatic transmission – Professionally repainted in Ivy Green – All new Palomino interior – Venetian blind in rear window – Original steel wheels with hubcaps and white wall tyres

This 1965 Ford XP Falcon Futura coupe has been through a full ground up, nut and bolt restoration. These little XP Hardtops are right up there with some of the best looking classic Aussie cruisers ever built. This is one of the top of the line ‘Futura’ Model hardtops and finished in a unique and very European inspired colour combination.

The body of the car has been completely stripped back and received the necessary repaired before being professionally repainted in Ivy Green metallic. The chrome bumpers have been refinished and all of the stainless trim have been straightened and polished. The car sits on a set of original 14” steel wheels that have been repainted to match with original hubcaps and white wall tyres.

Inside the car has also been completely refinished back to a factory fresh look. The interior trim colour is called Palomino and provides the perfect contrast against the dark green paintwork. The floors received new carpet and there is a new headliner over head. Being a Futura, you get bucket seats and a centre console, both of which are fully refinished. Front and centre is the factory steering wheel painted in white with a column shifter for the automatic transmission. A cool period accessory is the venetian blind in the rear window. The boot is neatly presented in a factory style with carpeted floor mat.

Under the bonnet lives a 200ci Super pursuit inline six cylinder engine. The engine bay looks almost as good as the day it left the factory. The factory style air cleaner remains in place, everything is neatly painted and there are reproduction factory style stickers used throughout. The engine is paired to the factory three speed automatic transmission. Power is fed to the rear wheels through the factory differential. The suspension remains unmodified and has been completely rebuilt. The brakes are power assisted with discs up front and drums in the rear. The same level of detail used throughout the top side of the car extends to underneath.

These little XP Falcons are always popular and this one is highly spec’d, in a great colour combination and has been through an extensive restoration. Since completion the car has only travelled just over 3,000 miles. Be sure to register and bid if you want to see this one parked in your garage.
