1932 Ford Roadster Hot Rod

This unique 1932 Ford Roadster is a full ground up professional build by Ol’ School Garage in Brisbane, completed in December 2019. Starting with the Chassis which is C&W Components ‘32 rails with custom bracing throughout. The front suspension runs a unique setup with So Cal drop axle, radius rods and cantilever coil overs. The steering is a Vega box with Ididit polished column. In the rear is a four link with cantilever coil overs and includes a panhard bar and anti-roll bar. The brakes are Wilwood discs with 4 piston calipers on all four corners. Wilwood products were also used for the brake and clutch master cylinders as well as a reverse swing pedal box.

Powering the rod is a 4.0L 1UZ Toyota Quad Cam V8 engine paired to a 5 speed manual transmission. The engine was given a freshen up along with Kelford Cams, a Harcourt single plane intake, Quickfuel 600 DP Carburettor, MSD 6AL ignition and crank trigger. Under the rear is a 9” diff with 3.7:1 gears, 31 spline TrueTrac and Altra Alloy housing.

The body itself is a C&W Components Glass item channelled 2” over the frame. The 32 grill has been laid back and bonnet shortened to give the car a modern look. A roadstershop.com laid back windscreen with black painted frame was used to keep the profile sleek. The tail lights are 1950 Pontiac items custom fitted to the body. The body has been professionally painted in pearl white inside and outside as well as underneath. Satin black trim and hardware around the car complete the modern theme. The whole undercarriage is detailed and painted as nice as the top side.

The interior has been completely custom trimmed in black leather with contrasting stitching. The boot is also decked out to match. The dash is nicely painted with Autometer old time gauges, digital shift light and tacho under dash.

The car was debuted in its final form at Summernats 33 where it made the Top 60 Hall. The car then went on to win Top 20, Top Open Hot Rod Elite and 2nd Top Undercarriage/ driveline. The car has only travelled approximately 50kms since completion and has been fully engineered in QLD on LH10 full hot rod registration. This is a complete custom one-off build and you will never see another car like it.
