1956 Chevy Belair Sports Coupe

This 1956 Chevy Belair Sports Coupe has been tastefully modified and upgraded into a cool classic cruiser. The 50’s Tri-five Chevy’s have iconic styling that everyone associated to. Externally, the car has been repainted in classic white over red two-tone colour scheme. The chrome and brightwork on the car has been refinished or replaced. The low roof profile and pillarless side windows is what makes the sports coupe one of the most desirable Belair body styles. The car is given a mild custom look on the outside courtesy of a set of staggered 18/20” Boyd Coddington chrome wheels.

Inside the interior has been redone in a two-tone tuck and roll style with bench seats front and rear to comfortably seat 6 people. The dash features Dakota Digital gauges in the factory cluster and there is a billet steering wheel mounted to a tilt column. For reliability the wipers have been upgraded to electric. There is a big stereo system that has been neatly installed into the car featuring a head unit under the dash, 6 inch speakers in the kick panels, 6×9’s in the rear shelf and an amplifier with two small subs in the boot.  The boot has been spray lined inside with a new carpet mat and the Optima battery relocated from the engine bay.

Under the bonnet is a 350ci Chevy small block V8 engine with a mild cam and electric choke. The engine is paired to a Turbo 700R four speed overdrive automatic transmission. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a 9” diff. The steering has been upgraded to modern CPP 605 power steering and there are four-wheel power disc brakes with drilled rotors all round. The rear suspension has been converted from leaf springs to a four-link with adjustable coil over suspension front and rear. This Belair is a great classic cruiser with an iconic look and some tasteful upgrades to enhance the driving experience.
