This 1976 Holden Kingswood was built new in the Adelaide plant and marked new as going to GM-H Garage in Woodville, South Australia on 26th of August, 1976. The car was very well spec’d for a Kingswood being factory 308ci V8 engine with T-bar automatic transmission, Limited slip diff and finished in Contessa Gold with bucket seats and console. The car is a very low km example with less than 97,000 kms travelled from new.
The car has been with the current owner who is a collector and enthusiast for approximately 2 years. It is presented in its original colour of Contessa Gold metallic which has been professionally applied. The chrome and trim on the car are in good condition all round. The exterior look is enhanced with 17” GTS style wheels all round. The original steel wheels and hubcaps are also included in the sale.
The interior is a finished in the original colour Tan vinyl with factory bucket seats and console. Creature comforts include power steering and power brakes. Under the bonnet is the original matching numbers 308ci V8 engine. The engine bay is very tidy in a factory style presentation. The engine is paired to the original T-bar shifted, turbo-hydromatic automatic transmission. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a factory LSD diff. Underneath the car has been lowered with new king springs and Koni shocks and there is a twin 2 ½” exhaust system to give it a nice note out the back.
This is a great example of a well spec’d and low mileage HX Kingswood V8 sedan. Examples like this with their original matching number engine in place and log books are extremely hard to find.
