Life can be a rollercoaster sometimes and after finding out that one of our teams amazingly talented car builder and good friend who’s only in his 30’s has been diagnosed with stage 4 terminal brain cancer then we all went into a loop to loop. To think what he and his family are going through and continue to, the financial stress they were instantly put under and faced with the possibility of loosing their home we are putting together a fund raiser on the Gold Coast on the 22nd of September with a cars and coffee with breaky from 8:00am, and poker run leaving the shop at 10:00am ending with a lunch to raise some funds and to cut these guys a break… We will be holding an online Auction, all items being auctioned will be available for viewing at Seven82 on the day and we are raffling off an amazing Cook Islands accomodation package as well. We have also set up this go fund me page for those that can spare to contribute.
So here’s the deal, Adrian Woodley has been diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma which unfortunately means that even with the treatment available the cell mutation will continue to grow until it cannot be operated on any longer.
To date Adrian has successfully had a craniotomy resection (brain surgery) to remove a lemon sized tumour, he’s undertaken daily radiotherapy sessions and continuing chemotherapy to keep the cells in the original area at bay.
While all this has been taking place Adrian and his wife Rachel have not been able to work and have used their life savings to keep afloat, along with donations from friends and family to help with covering the mortgage and food vouchers. Ongoing battles with Centrelink to provide evidence of what is going on to receive some sort of short-term income has been another burden for the past month with 3 requests for review and still nothing from the government to assist them during this period of need.
So this is were we are at… We are reaching out to all our gear heads and friends from far and near to drop what you can into this bucket to cut our boi and his family some grace and to give them something less to worry about. All donations will go directly towards the family to help them with bills, putting food on the table and keeping their home while they enjoy the time they have left together. |
