In a collaboration with Tickford and to mark the 40th Anniversary of one of Australia’s most iconic Bathurst Victories in 1977 the 1-2 finish, Allan Moffat paired up with the team at Tickford to produce this commemorative edition “Bathurst 77 Special “. The cars are limited to just 77 units however rumours are that less than 50 were actually ever produced. The Bathurst 77 pack was a $65,000 upgrade on top of the cost of the GT Mustang donor car and received a large number of upgrades both cosmetic and of course, for performance.
This example is build number 16, although Tickford did allow owners to choose their build number within the 77 upon ordering. The car is unmodified from the way it left Tickford and has only travelled 7,625kms from new. Tickford was strict about the donor cars to perform the conversion, requiring them to be 2017 year model build and factory Oxford white. The outside of the car is transformed with a unique livery to emulate the 1977 Bathurst winning Falcon Hardtops and unique badging. The car has a lowered stance and sits over a set of Tickford signature 10 spoke 20” wheels.
Inside the car received a unique interior trim with leather and alcantara seats featuring red and blue highlights, stitching and Tickford embroidered logos. The dash features a build number plate signed by Allan Moffat. The normal GT Mustang creature comforts exist with air conditioning, power windows, power seat and infotainment with Bluetooth connectivity.
Under the bonnet lives the 5.0L Coyote V8 which Tickford has fitted with a Roush Supercharger to make 727hp and 820nm of torque. The engine is paired to the factory six speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The handling is improved with full Steeda K frame bracing up front and G-Trac in the rear. The brakes have been upgraded to Willwoods front and rear featuring 15” two piece rotors in the front with six pot calipers and 14” rotors in the rear with 4 pot calipers.
The car is completely unmodified from the way it left Tickford, is one owner and has only travelled 7,625 kms. The sale of the car includes the original books, Bathurst 77 special signed, numbered and framed poster and Numbered covercraft car cover. This is a fantastic investment grade modern muscle car and a rare chance to grab a piece of Aussie motoring history.
