This 1994 Dodge Viper RT/10 would have to be one of the best, original, low milage examples on the planet! The Viper was the all American “poster car” for kids of the 90s and this first gen example looks like it has come straight off the poster. The original Viper was a no-frills performance car that didn’t care for comforts like exterior door handles, roll down windows or even a proper roof, but instead opted for a thumping V10 engine with side pipes, a six-speed manual transmission and limited slip diff. There were no driver aids like anti-lock brakes or traction control, just a pure drivers car that blurred the line between super car and muscle car.
This particular example was purchased by the current owner from a dealer in Virginia, USA. They were selling the car on behalf of a large collector who had owned the car for 20 years. The car was in completely original condition, unmodified in any way, and with extremely low 2,007 original miles. The car was imported to Australia in 2021 by the current owner and has been kept as part of his collection in a climate-controlled warehouse ever since, only being driven approximately 300 miles during that time. The factory black paintwork is believed to be original to the car and presents extremely well all round. Only four colours were available to order in 1994 and this is arguably the most desirable today.
The interior of the Viper is well presented and completely factory. The original radio even remains in place in the dash. The leather is in good condition and consistent with what would be expected of such a low milage car. This car is optioned with air conditioning which was a first for the 1994 year model. The removable canvas sold top and side windows are in good condition and supplied with the sale of the car.
Under the huge reverse opening hood is the original 8.0L, aluminium V10 engine which presents like new. The engine is paired to a six speed manual transmission and power is fed to the rear wheels through a limited slip diff. There are a couple of extremely minor upgrades that have been made since the car arrived into Australia which include upgraded header back, Bellinger exhausts, K&N air filters and smoothed intake pipes. The original parts for these are all included with the sale of the car. The car has recently been serviced with all new engine, gearbox and diff oils along with new low dust ceramic brake pads.
The sale of the car includes all the original documentation, original window sticker and log book. There is also a pair of spare rear tyres as these can be difficult to source. This would have to be one of the best examples of a first generation Dodge Viper currently for sale in the world. This car is a true collector grade example and would be a sound investment for the future.
