1983 Holden HDT VH SS Group 3 Commodore

This 1983 Holden HDT VH SS Group 3 Commodore is a nice example of a genuine collector quality Aussie Muscle Car. The Group 3 was the most highly spec’d of the VH Group series cars by HDT and there were only 245 examples built.
This particular car arrived from the factory to HDT in North Melbourne on the 5th of October, 1983. The car was HDT build number 989 through the line. Once complete the car was sent to Greg Maurice Holden in Cobram, Victoria where it was sold new on the 18th of October, 1983.
The body of the car is well presented in its factory colour of Alabaster white. We are told that it still wears most of its original paintwork and is fitted with the full group 3 bodykit including lower front air dam, reward facing bonnet scoop, side skirts, rear apron and rear spoiler. It should be noted that this car is a factory “wind split” delete car as confirmed in its HDT documentation. The car sits on a full set of original 15” Irmscher wheels including the spare which remains in place in the boot.
Inside the trim appears to be almost entirely original finished in factory Dark Claret. Being a group three car, it is fitted with some extra comforts including rear headrests and factory air conditioning. There is an aftermarket stereo system fitted into the dash. The interior door cards and carpets are all in good condition for a car of this age. The factory style Momo Peter Brock steering wheel remains in place as does the timber finish HDT shift knob. Inside the boot is presented like factory with correct Irmscher spare wheel and rubber floor mat.
Under the bonnet lives the original matching numbers 5.0L V8 engine. The engine bay is extremely well presented in a factory style without any obvious modifications. The engine is paired to the factory four speed manual transmission. The suspension is factory as are the power steering and power assisted disc brakes. The odometer is currently displaying 162,955 kms which is believed to be accurate.
This is a fantastic example of a collector quality, genuine and matching numbers HDT VH SS Group 3 Brock Commodore. The sale includes the original log books and copies of the original HDT build documentation.
