1977 VALIANT SPORTS PACK PANEL VAN

This 1977 Chrysler Panel Van is a neatly restored example of a rare Aussie classic. These Cl Valiant Panel Vans are certainly thin on the ground these days, with most sources sighting only 1,700 produced. The owner of this car tells us that his research indicated less than 100 of these vans were windowless and only a handful features the A53 “Sports Pack” option with 265ci Hemi 6 and four speed transmission like this one.

The current owner is the 4^th owner of the car and when he purchased the car it had only been registered in the original owners name. In 2020, the van was stripped back to bare metal where it was found to be an extremely good dry body having been a country car for almost all of its life. It was then prepped and repainted in its original colour of PPG ‘Impact Orange’ with productions of the original A93 stripe package sourced and replaced. When the car was being reassembled it received a new windscreen and rubber, new door rubbers, weathers strips and bailey channel for the side glass. Underneath the van is all original and retains most of its original red oxide. The van sits on a set of period Sankey Benson Mags with new caps, nuts and tyres.

The interior of the van has also received a freshen up with new carpets, seats, complete headlining and recalibrated gauges/instrumentation. The van retains its original seat belts, uncracked dash pad, sports steering wheel, four-speed console and cobra head gear knob. In the back is all factory looking with speckle coat finish to the floors and full length headliner up top.

Under the bonnet, the 265ci Hemi 6cyl engine received a freshen up with new original style carburettor. The floor shifter four speed manual transmission and factory differential are in place with recent services including new oils. There is a new exhaust system fitted up. A brand new three core radiator keeps temperatures in check. To make sure the brakes are functioning well there is a new master cylinder and booster. The original fuel tank has been flushed out and repainted and the suspension features new shocks, rebuilt rear springs and various new parts required in the front end.

These Valiant panel vans rarely come up for sale and this one with the A53 Sports Pack, a 265ci Hemi engine and four speed is about as cool as they come. The van is being offered at NO RESERVE and will sell to the highest bidder at the end of the auction.
