This 1975 Holden Torana SL/R has been fully rebuilt and tastefully modified into a tough little street car. The car started life as a genuine SL/R finished in Mandarin red with black trim sporting a 4.2L V8 and four speed manual transmission.

The car underwent a massive transformation in 2017 being rebuilt into the tough streeter you see here today. The body of the car was completely stripped with the iconic wide body A9X body kit and flares fitted up to the guards. The car was then professionally repainted in one of the loudest factory colours, Barbados Green. The A9X blackouts were applied to the body and provide a nice contrast against the bright green. There is a brand new set of SL/R 5000 decals that come along with the car should the new owner wish to apply them. The front and rear bumpers are colour coded green and there is a big polished stainless drop tank under the bum. Completing the toughie look is a set of Weld wheels with skinny 15×4” up front wrapped in 185/65/15s up and 15×10’” rears with bead locks and  meaty 295/50/15s.

Inside the car has been neatly refinished in black and slate grey. The two front seats have been replaced with period style Recaro buckets that have been trimmed to match. Between the front seats is a B&M Pro Ratchet shifter for the auto trans. There is an AutoMeter monster tacho on the steering column as well as four smaller gauges mounted under the dash. The kick panels and door locks were replaced recently.

Lift the bonnet and you will see where all the action happens. The original donk is long gone and replaced with a fully built 355 stroker V8. The engine build features a 3:48 Scat crank, Scat H beam rods, 11.5 HPR forge pistons, ARP main stud kit, Crow solid F/T cam & lifters, Hi Energy sump & pick up, Yella Terra stage 3 alloy heads & rocker kit, Torque power manifold and topped with a Pro Systems 750 cfm carb. Other items include IPR valve covers, Alloy electric water pump, MSD pro billet distributor and MSD 6AL ignition box. Keeping things cool is a new PWR alloy radiator with twin thermo fans. Fuel is supplied from a 110 litre alloy drop tank using a Holley 150 fuel pump. Exhaust gasses are expelled through a 3 inch stainless exhaust with removable tail pipes which are not currently fitted but included with the sale.

The engine is paired to a reconditioned Turbo 400 automatic transmission which has been fully manualised with 4200 rpm stall converter and B&M Pro Ratchet shifter. Power is fed to the rear wheels through a heavy duty tail shaft into a shortened 9″ diff with strange 4.11 true trac centre and 31 spline billet axles. Handling is improved with new springs and shock absorbers along with fully adjustable trailer arms. Steering has been upgraded to a Hopper Stopper rack & pinion front end with HQ stud pattern front & rear. The brakes have been upgraded to 290mm front slotted rotors with new brake booster. The battery has been relocated to the boot with an isolation switch and the alternator and stater motor were both replaced for reliability.

The car was completed in 2018 being sold to the current in mid 2019.  The car has been previously QLD registered and is fitted with a QLD modification plate. This is a tough and fun little car that certainly makes a bold statement!
