HIGHLIGHTS: – Genuine JG66 GT Falcon Hardtop – Yellow Blaze with black interior – Matching number 351ci V8 – Three-speed automatic transmission – One of one in its build specification – Power steering – Ford executive fleet car from new

This 1974 Ford Falcon XB GT Coupe was built at Ford’s Broadmeadows assembly plant in Victoria being completed in August of 1974. Decoding the factory build plate, the car was a (T code) 351ci Cleveland V8 with (B code) three-speed automatic floor shift finished in (M code) Yellow Blaze with (B code) Black interior. The car is listed as a dealer code 3997 which is a Ford Executive fleet vehicle. The car was optioned with the option codes 03 – seat belts, 06 – Power steering and 72 – Radio cassette player. According to its ACCHS report it was the only car every built in this exact build specification.

The car was purchased by the previous owner in 2017 from a father and son who had begun restoring it as a project. The car was stripped and they had rebuilt the original matching numbers engine but hadn’t really gotten any further than that. Over the next 3 or 4 years, the new owner finished restoring the car into what you see today.

The body of the car was stripped and some repairs were started but it was a good shell and only required minimal rust repairs up near the parcel shelf and rear window. The bare shell was then fully repainted in its original colour of Yellow Blaze with GT Black outs reapplied. The tail lights were replaced as was the side window glass.

Inside the car has been fully retrimmed in black but is done using an XA style basket weave pattern. The interior is well presented with original style steering wheel and dash. The carpets, headliner and sill plates were all replaced with new items.

Under the bonnet is the matching number 351ci V8 Cleveland engine that has been fully rebuilt. The engine bay is well presented in a factory style presentation. The engine is paired to a C4 automatic transmission and power is fed to the rear wheels via a nine-inch diff.  The diff was recently reconditioned with new bearings and oil. The braking system is factory but has been refurbished with new master cylinder.

This is a rare opportunity to purchase a matching numbers, genuine JG66 Falcon XB GT Hardtop. Register and bid now to avoid disappointment.
