This is a very nice example of a 1973 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible. 1973 represented a change over year for Corvette and was the mid point of the third generation cars where they transitioned from chrome bumpers to new crash law compliant plastic bumpers. For the 1973 model year, only the front bumper was a molded crash type with the rear remaining the original style chrome, a feature that would be replaced the following year. The Corvette maintained it’s classic recipe of being a two seater, V8, front engine sports car for the masses.
This particular example came into Australia in 2008 and was owned by the GMH dealer in Inverell NSW who had the car repainted in the striking red colour you see here and put the car on display in his dealership for many years before being purchased by the current owner in Queensland.
The car is running a 350ci V8 engine paired to a 4 speed manual transmission, the way any real drives car should be, with three pedals! The gearbox and brakes in the car have both been serviced recently. The car looks striking in very nice bright red paintwork with contrasting Tan hounds tooth interior and tan convertible top. A super classy colour combo that looks fantastic on this car. Features include power steering and disk brakes all round making it a nice driving car to get out and use. An upgraded stereo adds some tunes to the driving experience, lap belts have been added for safety and a mongoose alarm system keeps it secure from thieves. The car sits on a set of original style rally wheels all round.
Inside the trim has all been replaced and presents extremely well. The carpets are also new as is the Tan cloth style convertible top. The car has LO1 compliance in QLD and has previously been engineered in NSW with full compliance. The sale includes a folder of documents including original build sheet, handbook, receipts etc. A very nice example of a convertible third generation Corvette that is ready for someone to jump in and enjoy.
