This 1971 Ford Bronco is a rare and extremely desirable classic American 4×4. These first-generation Broncos are extremely popular and extremely hard to come by here in Australia. This one is a Californian delivered truck that has been treated to a host of upgrades and improvements.
The body of the truck has been repainted in a cool period pastel green colour with white contrasting highlights and fitted with flared guards for a more aggressive stance. The front and rear chrome bumpers have been replaced along with the badges for a fresh look. On the back there is a swing out tire rack on one side. The truck is lifted 2.5 inches using a Wild Horses branded lift kit with springs and shocks over a set of polished 15” Pro Comp wheels with 33” Mickey Thompson mud tyres.
The inside of the truck is neatly fitted out with new carpets on the floor and replacement seats all round finished in black vinyl. The dash features Dakota digital RTX series gauges and there is an aftermarket steering wheel front and centre. There is a white painted roll bar for protection and removable bikini style top to keep you out of the sun on a hot day. For tunes while cruising there is a Retrosound old school look Bluetooth head unit and USB input.
Under the bonnet is a rebuilt 302ci V8 engine. The engine build features a mild cam, Edelbrock intake and carburettor. Exhaust gasses escape through a set of aftermarket headers into a custom dual exhaust. Cooling has been upgraded with a new aluminium radiator and electric thermos fans. The engine is paired to a C6 three speed automatic transmission. The steering is power assisted as are the brakes with dual master cylinder and factory drums all round. The truck is four-wheel drive with high and low range. The fuel system has been upgraded with dual fuel tanks.
These first-generation Bronco’s are always extremely popular when we get them here in the shop and this one is finished in a cool traditional colour scheme with some neat upgrades throughout. Be sure to register and bid if you can see yourself cruising into the sunset in this cool vintage truck.
