This Hemi powered, 1971 Plymouth ‘Cuda is one bad ass modified American muscle car. The car has been neatly upgraded into a tough street machine. The car left the factory as a 340ci V8 powered, Hemi Orange, ‘Cuda with a large number of factory options. The ’71 model is widely regarded as the most desirable year model of all the ‘Cudas with its unique four headlight front end, gills in the guards and one year only, tail light set up.

The car went through an extensive rotisserie build in 2013. The body of the car was said to be in very good condition with the car retaining almost all of its original sheet metal. The car was blasted inside and out back to bare metal. The decision was made to repaint the car in one of Mopar’s high impact factory colours, Sassy Grass Green. The chassis and interior was treated and then finished with Zolatone paint while the underside was then clear coated and catalysed. The rare factory optioned elastomeric front bumper was retained and refinished in green to match. The bonnet is a custom item with integrated shaker style scoop, The front valance has AAR style lips with a high real spoiler and Hemi Billboard stripes down the sides. The external look is finished with a set of Foose wheels measuring 18×8” up front and 18×10” in the rear.

Inside the car has also been completely refinished in new black leather. The carpets and headliner were also replaced. The new dash houses a full set of Autometer gauges. Between the front bucket seats is the iconic pistol grip manual shifter and three pedals on the floor like every real muscle car should be. There is a Bluetooth stereo for tunes while driving and subwoofer and amplifier neatly mounted in the boot.

Lift the bonnet and the party gets started thanks to a real deal 426ci Hemi V8 that has been fully built and stroked to 496ci in 2013. Sitting proud up top is a ‘six pack’ triple carb setup for neck snapping performance. The engine bay is very well presented with everything neatly painted along with a March performance billet serpentine belt system including billet alternator and power steering pump. Keeping things cool is a Brand new BeKool Alloy radiator with triple thermo fans. The engine setup made 650 hp at the fly wheel prior to being fitted to the car. The engine is paired to a Keisler custom built Tremec TKO 600, 5 speed manual transmission with McLeod RXT twin disk hydraulic clutch. Power is fed to the rear wheels through a custom drive shaft into a Mopar 8.75” Suregrip Posi traction diff running 3.9 ratio.

The factory front K member was removed and replaced with a full Magnum Force tubular member with big sway bar and coil over independent front suspension. The steering has been upgraded to a power rack and pinion setup. In the rear, the factory leaf springs have been set inwards to clear the bigger tyres with Ridetech shocks. The brakes have been upgraded to a Wilwood master cylinder with Wilwood 12.19″ discs with 4-piston callipers and drilled and slotted rotors all round.

This bad ass Mopar muscle car has all of the right ingredients to be the ultimate street machine. There is a large documentation file or receipts that will go along with the sale. Cars like this rarely become available so be sure to register and bid if you want to put this one in your garage.
