This 1971 Holden HG Monaro has been through an extensive ground up, rotisserie build in a high quality, custom street car. The car was purchased by the current owner in 2009 and sent the car straight off to renowned coach builder Classic Ridz in Caloundra. The brief given by the owner was to put the car through a no expense spared rotisserie restoration.

The body of the car was stripped back to bare metal and received any necessary repairs. The front guards were replaced with original GTS items, a GTS bonnet was fitted and the spare wheel hump was removed. The car was then fully repainted in a custom metallic blue with silver contrasting stripes. All of the chrome and brightwork on the outside of the car was either refinished or replaced. The external look is completed with a set of 17ā€ polished Billet Specialties Street star wheels.

The interior of the car was treated to a full custom retrim in cream leather and suede. Firstly the bare floors were coated in Dynamat sound proofing. Next the carpets were replaced followed by all new leather seats, custom leather door cards, and a supersuede headlining by Daveā€™s Custom trimmers. The dash is neatly painted with a new set of Dolphin gauges and there is a Fusion stereo neatly integrated throughout.

Open to bonnet and you will find a very nicely detailed engine bay with billet hinges, body colour firewall and inner guards. The battery and washer bottle have both been relocated to the boot. In the centre sits a 350ci Chevy, 420hp, V8 crate engine from The Engine Factory in the USA. The engine features Edelbrock RPM Performer alloy heads, Edelbrock intake and Holley Carb. Keeping things cool is a new alloy radiator with twin thermos fans. The engine is paired to a Turbo 350, three-speed automatic transmission with B&M Quicksilver shifter. Power is fed to the rear wheels through a 9 inch differential. Expelling exhaust gasses is a new custom stainless steel exhaust. The brakes have been upgraded to be power assisted with discs on all four corners. The fuel tank was swapped out for a Bathurst style big tank.

The car was completed in 2011 and have driven very little since then and never in the rain. The hard work was rewarded with a feature in street machine magazine.
