This 1970 Ford Mustang convertible has been converted to right hand drive and neatly restored and upgraded. The previous owner performed the restoration on the car from 2004 to 2006 before selling the car to the current owner in 2017.
The body of the car has been stripped back to bare metal before being fully repainted in a deep metallic green by Still-One Automotive restoration in Granville, NSW. The chrome and trim on the car was also refurbished at the same time. There is a front spoiler and the car sits on a set of 16” Simmons wheels with grey centres and a polished lip. The power convertible top has a replacement canvas and presents well in black.
Inside the car, the seats and door panels have been retrimmed in a custom tan Italian leather which contrast nicely against the exterior colour. The black carpets have been replaced and the steering wheel is a new reproduction item. A manual shifter pokes up between the front bucket seats with three pedal like every muscle car should be. The biggest feature you will notice inside is that the car has been converted to right hand drive.
Under the bonnet is a 302ci V8 engine paired to a five-speed manual transmission. The steering is power assisted so you don’t need to have arms like Arnie to turn it. The brakes are power boosted with discs up front and drums in the rear. A dual exhaust system gives the car a nice note and dumps down under the rear just before the rear bumper.
Mustang convertibles are always popular car and this one being neatly restored, with V8 power, a manual transmission, power steering, power brakes and converted over to right hand drive is particularly attractive.
