This 1970 Pontiac Trans Am Ram Air III is a rare, collector quality American muscle car. There were only 3,108 Ram Air III cars built in 1970, and only 1,769 were equipped with the four-speed manual transmission. Purchased by the current owner out of California in 2011, the car was imported to the Queensland where it has been well looked after since.

At the time of purchase the car was advertised as a genuine, documented 63,000 mile, one owner car. The car had received a freshen up in the late 90s with a repaint and rebuild of the original WS engine. The car comes with a large file of receipts from both its time in the US, as well as in Australia which shows it has always been cared for and well maintained.

If you wanted a Pontiac Trans Am in 1970, you better have liked white and blue because your only colour options were either white with blue stripes or blue with white stripes. This car is well presented despite the one repaint being nearly 30 years old. The decals have been given a freshen up in that time though. The duck tail spoiler and shaker hood are iconic Trans Am items and the car sits on chrome Rally wheels with white lettered tyres.

Inside the car is very well presented in general in factory black. A keen eye may notice that the front seats have been updated to a slightly more modern style but trimmed to match the rest of the interior. While only a subtle change, they are much more supportive and hugging than the originals. The rest is all reasonably factory with the exception of an aftermarket head unit. Creature comforts include a tilt column and power steering.

Under the bonnet is the original WS code 400ci Pontiac V8 engine that was rebuilt in the 90s. The engine is paired to the factory four-speed manual transmission with Hurst shifter to give you a proper raw 70s muscle car experience. Power is fed to the rear wheels through a 12 bolt Posi rear end. The car received a major service in May of 2022 and the battery was replaced in August.

These cars were monsters back in their day, capable of running the standard ¼ mile in 13.9 seconds, making it fast enough to walk away from a Phase III GTHO Falcon. This is a true collector grade American Muscle car with values of these continuing to rise in the US. The odometer on the car now shows 72,386 miles and it comes with a large receipt file and owners manual.
