1971 HOLDEN HG KINGSWOOD WAGON

This is a beautifully restored example of a 1970 Holden HG Kingswood station wagon. The restoration commenced in 2009 with the owner wanting to build himself the ultimate Aussie V8 touring wagon. He wanted the car to look fantastic, be comfortable on long trips and to also be capable of pulling a caravan or boat.

The body of the car underwent a comprehensive restoration in 2012 and still presents extremely well today. The paint work is of a very high quality in the original Sea Mist metallic colour and the body is straight and true. The chrome bumpers on the front and rear have both been refinished and the wagon sits over a set of polished 15” Centreline Wheels.

Inside, the wagon was treated to a full retrim in a bone colour using Connolly leather. The wagon has many GTS features added including full instrumentation, flip forward bucket seats, console and steering wheel. All the interior chrome and stainless has been refurbished and there is a set of venetian blinds on the rear side windows to complete the look. The carpets are all new, and in the back of the wagon there are new chrome strips.

Lift the bonnet of the wagon and you will find it has been upgraded to a 308 ci Holden V8 engine. The engine bay is beautifully presented with the inner guards all colour coded to match the rest of the body. The engine is the correct orange colour with chrome rocker covers and air cleaner. The engine is paired to an ‘Aussie’ four-speed manual transmission. The transmission, gear shifter, front end and front brakes were all completely overhauled earlier this year. There is a receipt file with the car covering various items over the last 15 years of ownership.
