1971 FORD FALCON PRO-TOURING

This 1971 Ford Falcon has been through a ground up rebuild into a cool custom and tough street car. The car was stripped back to a bare shell in 2015 by a previous owner before being extensively modified and customised. Actually an XY shell to being with, the body of the car has been restored as an XW with lots of subtle modifications that could easily be over looked. The entire engine bay is shaved and smoothed with custom sheet metal, there is a GT style bonnet scoop, shaved boot panel, deleted fuel filler door and custom centre exit exhaust with moulded rear bumper. The entire body was painted from bare metal with Jet black paintwork with all of the chrome and stainless trim on the outside of the car refinished in gunmetal grey. Competing the look on the outside is a set of 20” MC Racing wheels with colour matched grey centres.

The interior has been completely redone with light tan and black interior trim. The dash is smoothed with a set of Aircraft styled gauges and billet push button switches. There is a chrome tilt steering column with billet steering wheel. A touch screen infotainment system and aftermarket stereo system allow for tunes while cruising.

Under the bonnet is a 427ci Small Block Ford Stroker from Blueprint engines. The engine features a new cast iron block, Comp Cams pushrods, 4340 forged crank, 4340 forged connecting rods, Mahle Pistons and rings, Hydraulic roller cam, Cloyes double row timing chain, 64cc Aluminium heads, Moroso sump, Melling oil pump, Edelbrock intake and 850 CFM carb. Spark is provided by an MSD ignition with Pro Billet distributer. This package made 571.4hp on the engine dyno before being put into the car. The engine bay is very well presented with a shaved and smoothed fire wall, billet serpentine belt drive up front, billet strut tower covers and billet bonnet hinges. Keeping everything cool is a new radiator with thermos fans. The engine is paired to an automatic transmission with B&M quick shifter.

Underneath the car is nearly the entire RRS catalogue of upgrades including RRS front coil over suspension, rack and pinion steering, under dash brake booster, Three-link coil over rear end with torque arm and Mumford link. The brakes have also been upgraded to RRS discs front and rear. Power is fed to the rear wheels by a built Extreme 9” diff with 3.5 gears and 31 spline axles.  Fuel is supplied by a fuel cell located in the boot of the car with electric fuel pump. The car is rewired front to back and the Optima battery has been relocated to the boot.

There is an incredible about of time and money put into this custom Falcon. It should be noted that due to the modifications in the engine bay area where the original chassis number was stamped, the car was issued with a police number which is on a plaque attached to the car and the car has previously been registered using this. This is quite common in cars of this age and absolutely the most correct and above-board way of tackling this. The upgrades to the car are of the highest quality available and the car has been mod plated for QLD. This is one unique falcon, register and bid now to avoid disappointment.
